■ Caledonia Days: The 20th Annual Caledonia Days continues Saturday. Events include more live music, arts and crafts, food vendors, a car show and jumpers. Events will take place at Ola J. Pickett Park.
■ Art in the Park: Starkville Area Arts Council will be hosting its annual Art in the Park event at McKee Park from 9 a.m. to noon. The free event will include chalk, beads, clay, paint, drums, drawing, writing, theater, dance and more. All art materials are provided at no cost to attendees. ■ Harvest Blues Jam: The Black Prairie Blues Museum is hosting a harvest blues jam from 2-4 p.m. Musicians are invited to bring an instrument to jam together. Cover is $5 plus non-perishable Thanksgiving food items for the West Point Clay County food pantry.
Monday, Oct. 21
■ Hospital Road Drive Thru Trick or Treat: OCH Regional Medical Center and other participating clinics on Hospital Road in Starkville will be participating in a drive thru trick or treat event, where families are encouraged to drive down the road and stop at clinics for fun and treats along the way. The drive thru will be from 5:30-7 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 22
■ Fall Glass Recycling Drive: MSU will host their annual Fall Glass Recycling Drive from 1-5 p.m. Golden Triangle residents can bring clear, brown, green or yellow glass objects to the Chadwick Lake boat ramp near MSU’s Joe Frank Sanderson Center, 225 Bailey Howell Drive. Glass should be cleaned, sorted by color and brought in cardboard boxes. Do not include tops or lids. For more information contact Nicole Thomas at [email protected].

■ Heritage Museum Talk: Local historian Rufus Ward will be speaking about the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes and the Trail of Tears at 10:30 a.m. at the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum. The public is invited to attend.

■ Eudora Welty Writers Symposium: Mississippi University for Women is hosting the 36th annual Eudora Welty Writers Symposium, featuring Maurice Carlos Ruffin, T.J. ■ Pumpkinpalooza: Greater Starkville Development Partnership will be bringing its annual harvest festival back to Main Street from 5-7 p.m. There will be trick or treating, shopping, face painting, a pumpkin patch, and the Talladegourd 500 pumpkin race.
■ Sensory Friendly Fall Festival: The Starkville Area Autism Support Group is hosting a sensory friendly fall festival from 5-7 p.m. at Fire Station Park. The event will include an allergy friendly trunk or treat, carnival games, a calm zone, leaf painting and more.
■ Boo Bash: Main Street Columbus is hosting its first downtown Boo Bash from 5-8 p.m. Kids are encouraged to dress up in their cutest or spookiest costumes to trick or treat at downtown businesses. There will be a costume contest for all ages, though participants must register online by Oct. 20 to participate. There will also be a jack-o-lantern display at Leadership Plaza during the event. ■ Tim Easton and Cristina Vane: The Barn Concert Series continues with a performance by Tim Easton and Cristina Vane. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online at barnconcertseries.com.

■ Library Halloween Bash: Starkville Public Library is hosting its Halloween bash from 4-6 p.m. The event will include face painting, games, a ghost hunting escape room, creepy trivia, a costume contest and more. Those interested in painting/carving a pumpkin should bring their own pumpkin.
■ Trunk or Treat: East Mississippi Community College is hosting a trunk or treat from 6-8 p.m. in the front parking lot of the Communiversity. The Halloween celebration is free and open to the public, and includes a costume contest, candy, face painting and more.
■ Welty Gala: Mississippi University for Women’s annual Welty Gala is returning to the Trotter Convention Center at 7 p.m. Celebrated author Jeannette Walls, best known for her best-selling memoir, “The Glass Castle,” will be the featured speaker.
Saturday, Oct. 26
■ Halloween 5K Fun Run/Walk: Hosted by the Columbus Soccer Organization, this themed event features a 5K race and fun run/walk starting at 8 a.m. at the Soccer Complex. There will also be a costume contest, and adult beverages will be available for those 21 and older. Registration is $20, with those signing up by Oct. 12th receiving a t-shirt. Proceeds go toward building an indoor multisport facility benefiting youth in the Golden Triangle.

■ Cornerstone Sports Complex Trunk or Treat: Cornerstone Sports Complex is hosting a trunk or treat from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be a trunk decorating contest, trick or treating, pumpkin painting, bounce houses and more.
Thursday, Oct. 31
■ Art ‘N Antiques Opening Reception: The Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting the annual art and antique show at the Rosenzweig Arts Center. There will be an opening reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m., where attendees are encouraged to dress in costumes from the Victorian Mourning period. Following the reception, there will be a Victorian Mourning party at the Lee Home from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

■ Open House: Main Street Columbus will be hosting its Downtown Christmas Open House Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Participating businesses will offer refreshments, holiday items and specials during this festive weekend of shopping.

■ Under the Oaks: The Columbus Arts Council and The W are co-hosting this Burns Bottom arts festival celebrating artists of all kinds. The event, free and open to the public, will take place at the MUW campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to artisan vendors, the festival will feature food and live music.

■ With Thanksgiving: The Starkville-MSU Symphony and the Starkville Community Chorus perform together in a concert anticipating the Thanksgiving holiday featuring works such as Copland’s The Promise of Living, Rutter’s For the Beauty of the Earth and Willberg’s arrangement of Simple Gifts. The concert begins at 2 p.m. at Bettersworth Auditorium.

■ Collage Dance: Collage Dance will be performing a high-energy ballet that pairs blues music from the likes of Muddy Waters, B.B. ■ Starkville Christmas Parade: The Starkville Main Street Association will host its annual Christmas Parade starting at 6 p.m. on Main Street. This year’s Grand Marshal is former Major League Baseball pitcher Roy Oswalt. The theme is “Christmas Royale.”
Tuesday, Dec. 3
■ Columbus Christmas Parade: The Main Street Columbus Christmas Parade will once again be rolling through the city at 7 p.m. This year’s grand marshal is music educator Dawn Barham. The theme is “A Merry Musical Christmas.”
