The Columbus-Lowndes Public Library System will host a free, hands-on Pi Day celebration for all ages from 10 a.m. to noon on March 14.
The event is designed to make math engaging and accessible through stories, activities, art and pizza.
“The goal is to highlight how math shows up in everyday life in a fun way,” said Erin Busbea, library director. “Through hands-on exploration and playful learning, we hope to encourage curiosity and discovery.”
The program will include a pi-themed story time, interactive activities focused on measuring pi, and art projects. No registration is required.
The event is part of a broader library effort to create community-centered learning experiences. It is supported by the Simons Foundation as part of its “Infinite Sums” initiative, which seeks to help people connect with science and mathematics.
