Tips on flowers, FireScaping, and hands-on creativity are featured in free May Quick Bites programs offered by Mississippi State University’s Extension Service. Sign-up is required.
The hour-long interactive video sessions are available at noon on designated Thursdays at county Extension offices, or via Zoom. Sessions will also be available in Bost 409 for those on the MSU campus.
Programs this coming month include:
■ May 6 — In “Flowers Just Like Mama Made,” Plant & Soil Sciences Instructor Lynette McDougald takes a nostalgic look at floral design using everything from containers, mechanics and collected flowers like our mothers might have used.

■ May 13 — “FireScaping Your Landscape” brings advice from Holly Campbell, public service assistant with the Daniel B. Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Learn how to design a landscape that is fire safe. This program will serve as an introduction to the topic to determine additional interest in the subject.

■ May 27 — Extension Agent Jennifer Williams of Lincoln County presents “Let’s Make: A Marble Clay Dish.” This fun, easy and practical project is not only useful but budget-friendly.
