New Hope Christmas Parade

The second annual New Hope Christmas parade saw a long procession of businesses, sports teams, churches and individuals on floats in the parade. Some threw out candy and other goodies. Sandra Slayton, a New Hope resident of 50 years, said the crowd for the second ever New Hope Christmas parade is the largest she’s ever seen in the area. Jessica Lindsey/Dispatch Staff

One float at the second ever New Hope Christmas parade hoisted a pirate flag in memory of the late Mississippi State head football coach Mike Leach. Each person on the float rang cowbells while one person held the flag out. Leach passed away Monday night from heart complications.
