Mississippi State’s men’s basketball team will go dancing this postseason, as it was selected Sunday for this year’s NCAA tournament.
The Bulldogs (21-12) earned a No. 11 seed in the Midwest Regional and a spot in the play-in round in Dayton, Ohio. They will play fellow No. 11 seed Pittsburgh on Tuesday at 8:10 p.m.. The game will be broadcast on truTV.
The winner of the play-in game will draw No. 6 seed Iowa State in the Round of 64.
MSU finished 8-10 in the Southeastern Conference regular season standings and reached the quarterfinals in the SEC tournament under first-year head coach Chris Jans. The Panthers (22-11) finished fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). They are coached by Jeff Capel II.
