MSU’s Hill arrested for reckless driving
STARKVILLE — Mississippi State freshman running back Kylin Hill was arrested early Thursday morning on reckless driving charges. After Hill practiced with the team Friday morning, MSU coach Dan Mullen didn’t provide any indication Hill would receive any further discipline from the program.

VanHorn followed twisting path to new role at MSU
STARKVILLE — Lee VanHorn came to grips with the full reach of his new job in about 30 minutes.
VanHorn was sitting in a meeting in Mississippi State’s athletic department when he received calls from director of women’s basketball operations Maryann Baker, director of men’s basketball operations Mike Moynihan, and director of softball operations Jessica Cooley. After the meeting, he ran into director of football operations Jon Clark. All had equipment questions for the respective athletes.

MSU will look to use tight ends in bigger way
STARKVILLE — Dan Mullen has coached the top seven total offensive seasons in Mississippi State football history.
From 2014 to 2016, the Bulldogs finished first, third, and sixth in total offense in the Southeastern Conference.
MSU has built a consistent offensive attack largely without prominently featuring tight ends. The group almost never has accounted for more than 15 percent of the team’s receptions.
That is due to change in 2017.

There’s the Grantham often captured by television cameras, roaming the sidelines with intensity oozing from every pore, then the one in the meeting room that’s far from menacing.

Vansau continues hot hitting from April into summer
Hunter Vansau remembers everything about the turning point.
On April 15 in Columbia, South Carolina, in the middle game of a three-game series against South Carolina, Vansau entered as a pinch hitter. With the Mississippi State baseball team trailing by a run, Vansau hit the first pitch for a double that scored the tying run. Vansau had another hit in the game and scored a run to help the Bulldogs win the game and the series.
