Lauri Gorton, project manager for the Greenfield Environmental Multistate Trust, presented the progress of the Trust's work in Columbus during a Monday evening town hall at Sim Scott Park. The Trust manages the cleanup efforts in and around the former Kerr-McGee site on 14th Avenue. The Trust has drawn hundreds of samples in and around the site, and is preparing a report to submit to the Environmental Protection Agency in April. Gorton said the Trust will continue to prepare for additional cleanup efforts on main plant site and the nearby pine yard. Photo by: Deanna Robinson/Dispatch Staff
