Ole Miss senior quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has been named the 2025 winner of the C Spire Conerly Trophy, given annually to the top college football player in Mississippi. He is the fifth Ole Miss player to win the award in the last six years.
Chambliss is in his first season with the Rebels after transferring from Division II Ferris State. After starting the season as the backup to redshirt sophomore Austin Simmons, Chambliss thrived as No. 6 Ole Miss’ (11-1, 7-1 SEC) starter for the final 10 game. Chambliss finished the regular season completing 65.5% of his passes for 3,016 yards, 18 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He also ran for 470 yards and 6 touchdowns.
In the Rebels’ regular-season finale against Mississippi State, Chambliss threw for a season-high 359 yards and 4 touchdowns. He is 9-1 as Ole Miss’ starter and is 15th nationally in total offense per game (290.5) despite not starting the first two games of the year. Chambliss is 10th nationally in yards per completion and 12th in yards per attempt.
The Rebels are on the verge of earning their first berth in the College Football Playoff. The selection show is Sunday.
Wide receiver Brenan Thompson was Mississippi State’s nominee for the Conerly Trophy. The senior from Spearman, Tex., finished the season with 53 catches for 948 yards and six touchdowns.
