The Houston Astros announced the field for the 2026 Astros Foundation College Classic on Tuesday afternoon, naming Ole Miss as one of six teams set to compete in the tournament.
The Rebels will join Texas, Baylor, Ohio State, UTSA and Coastal Carolina at Daikin Park from Feb. 27 to March 1. Ole Miss will play three games in the tournament, taking on Baylor on Friday, Feb. 27; Ohio State on Saturday, Feb. 28; and Coastal Carolina on Sunday, March 1.
Single day tickets and three-day tournament packages will go on sale for the 2026 tournament at a later date.
Head coach Mike Bianco’s Ole Miss Rebels team hosted a regional in Oxford during the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The Rebels finished with a 43-21 overall record and were 16-14 in SEC play. Ole Miss also finished as runners-up in the 2025 SEC Tournament in Hoover, Ala. Texas won the 2025 SEC regular season title as they finished with a 22-8 record in SEC play. They finished with a 44-14 overall record and were the number two national seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
Head coach Pat Hallmark’s UTSA Roadrunners had arguably the best season in school history in 2025, finishing with a 47-15 overall record, including a 23-4 mark in American Conference play that earned them the regular season title. In only their fourth postseason berth in program history, the Roadrunners won the Austin Regional before falling to UCLA in the Los Angeles Super Regional.
The Baylor Bears are the third team from Texas in the field. In 2025, they finished 33-22 overall and were 13-17 in Big 12 play last season.
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers had a historic 2025 season, winning the Sun Belt regular season and tournament championships. They made the College World Series and finished as national runners-up behind the LSU Tigers. Head coach Kevin Schnall’s team had a 53-16 overall record and was 26-4 in Sun Belt play.
The Ohio State Buckeyes round out the field of teams in the 2026 Astros Foundation College Classic. In 2025, they finished 13-37 and were 5-25 in Big Ten play. Last season was the first year the Ohio State program was under the direction of head coach Justin Haire.
