Mississippi State golfers Ugo Malcor and Drew Wilson both played in amateur summer tournaments over the weekend, and both finished tied for sixth at the start of their summer play. 

Malcor tied for sixth at the St. Andrews Links Trophy tournament in St. Andrews, Scotland, putting together a four-round total of 11-under 277 at the Jubilee and Old Courses. Wilson competed at the Dogwood Invitational at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga., finishing with a four-round score of 13-under 275. 

Malcor’s performance began with an impressive opening round of 67 at the Jubilee Course, and ended with three consecutive rounds of 70 at the Old Course to finish. 53 of the 144 players competing at the event made the 36-hole cut. 

Wilson recorded round scores of 67, 71, 69 and 68 in his sixth-place finish at Dogwood, competing in a field of 100 players, including 25 from Southeastern Conference programs. 

Malcor, a junior, transferred to MSU from VCU in 2024 after winning the A-10 individual conference crown. In the summer, the Frenchman competes in European amateur events, and last year he won the Grand Prix of La Baule in his hometown and represented France at the European Amateur Team Championships. He ranks 265th in the World Amateur Golf rankings with three career wins. 

Wilson, a sophomore from Potts Camp, is entering his third year as a Bulldog after playing in eight team events this season. Last year, he tied for fifth at the Mississippi State Amateur Championship and sixth in the Blessings Collegiate Invitational.
