LAS VEGAS, NV — West Point native and former Green Wave basketball player Austin Crowley will get a shot as a professional after being invited to summer camp with National Basketball Association franchise the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Crowley was an undrafted free agent after the 2024 NBA Draft, but joins a Cavaliers team training camp ahead of the club’s Summer League campaign at 3 p.m. Friday against the Orlando Magic. The game will be televised on NBATV.
Crowley played for two years with the Green Wave, averaging 15 points per game as a freshman and a sensational 24.2 as a sophomore before transferring to Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas.
Crowley developed into a four-star recruit and was named as a nominee for the McDonald’s All-American team. He committed to play for Ole Miss, where he spent three years before transferring to Southern Miss. Crowley spent two seasons in Hattiesburg, starting all 64 games for the Golden Eagles and averaging 16 ppg.
Crowley helped USM to a 25-8 record in 2022-23, going 14-4 in conference play on the way to a Sun Belt regular season title.
