The Starkville Community Theatre is putting on performances of the musical “Bright Star” starting at 7 p.m. from Oct. 12-14 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 15. Tickets can be purchased by calling the SCT Box Office at (662) 323-6855.

Columbus
Mississippi University for Women’s Student Programming Board is hosting its annual fall festival, Oktoberfest, on the Shattuck Lawn from 5-8 p.m. There will be carnival-style games, live performances and a costume contest for children ages 0-12 beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are 50 cents each.

Starkville
The Starkville Public Library is hosting a Solar Eclipse Viewing Party from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee Wildlife Refuge. Solar eclipse glasses will be available at the program and at the library on the day of the eclipse.

Columbus
Main Street Columbus and the Columbus Arts Council are hosting a Downtown Art Walk, rain or shine, from 5-8 p.m. Local artists will exhibit and sell their work inside of downtown businesses, where available, and musicians will perform throughout downtown.

The Muddy Waters Sports Bar is hosting Rocktober Fest, complete with musical performances by Scotty Austin, Citizen Kane, NVSN, Seeking Seven and Chasing Daylight. Live music will be performed from 2-9:30 p.m. Entry is $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.

The West Point Clay County Arts Council is hosting Sundays at the Center, featuring a musical performance by Anne and Hoot Wilder.
