Prep basketball region tournament are set for this week throughout the state
Now that 2013 is officially underway, the high school sports scene is fixing to hit overload.
Several area teams remain alive in the hunt for high school football state championships.
Football playoff action begins in the Mississippi High School Activities Association Friday night. Classes 2A, 3A and 4A begin Friday night with five wins being needed to earn a state championship. Classes 1A, 5A and 6A only have four rounds and will begin play Nov. 9.
