The Starkville High School volleyball team’s season came to an end Thursday with a home loss sets to Clinton in the first round of the MHSAA Class 6A playoffs.
Starkville won the first set 25-19, but the Yellow Jackets’ success ended there. Clinton won the second set 25-18 and won each of the third and fourth sets 25-17 to take the match.
The season comes to an end with a 26-9 overall record for the Jackets, who won the regular-season Class 6A, Region 3 championship.
Clinton will host DeSoto Central, which beat Hernando on Thursday, in the second round on Tuesday.
