STEENS — Starkville Academy assistant coach Chris Craven will be the next head football coach at Columbus Christian Academy, the school confirmed on Monday.
Craven has spent the last two seasons as the offensive line coach for the Volunteers.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to lead the CCA football program, Craven said. “My vision is to create a competitive Christian culture that is built on toughness, strength and a will to win.”
Previous to his time in Starkville, Craven coached at Oak Hill Academy for 14 years, leaving in December 2019.
He was an assistant coach for his first nine years in West Point and a head coach the final five years, going 22-30 over that time with three trips to the playoffs.
Craven takes over for Jeremy Brock, who went 5-6 in his lone season in Steens as the Rams lost in the first round of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools Class 2A playoffs.
