PONTOTOC — The Caledonia High School girls soccer team beat Pontotoc in penalty kicks on Tuesday in Pontotoc.
The teams were scoreless at full time, but the Confederates scored three of their penalties, and the Warriors made just one.
Caledonia (10-1) will host West Point on Jan. 7.
Nettleton 7, Columbus 1
NETTLETON — The Columbus girls soccer team fell to Nettleton in Tuesday’s road match, 7-1.
Destiny McCoy scored the lone goal for the Falcons.
Goalkeeper Diana Maya had a save and split time with Shakyra Mullen in goal.
Nealy Williams had a hat trick for Nettleton, and Miranda Carrisoza, Reagan Scott, Laynie Dotson and Bella Scruggs all scored for the Tigers.
Columbus will play at rival New Hope at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Boys
Columbus boys 4, Nettleton 3
NETTLETON — The Columbus boys soccer team edged Nettleton 4-3 on Tuesday in Nettleton to improve to 7-6 on the season.
Jahon King, Destin Poindexter, Jordyn Nash and Jestin Jones all scored goals for the Falcons.
Columbus faces New Hope on the road Thursday.
Pontotoc 3, Caledonia 2
PONTOTOC — Garrett Bergstrom scored twice for the Caledonia boys team, but the ‘Feds lost Tuesday’s road match at Pontotoc, 3-2.
It’s the second straight loss for the ‘Feds (9-3) after a 9-1 start.
Caledonia will host West Point on Jan. 7
