STARKVILLE — The Columbus High School football team edged Shannon 14-8 in Saturday’s two-quarter spring game at Starkville High School.
Derriyan Salter had a 35-yard touchdown catch from Omari Williams for the Falcons. Williams finished 5 of 9 passing for 85 yards.
Tawoon Troop had seven carries for 68 yards, and Elijah Short had an 8-yard rushing touchdown.

NEW HOPE — New Hope beat Aberdeen 14-7 in Friday’s spring game in New Hope.
Quarterback Ty Crowell was 8 of 12 passing with two rushing touchdowns for the Trojans.
Linebacker Junior Baskin had seven tackles, including three for a loss, and a sack.
Cornerback J’Lynn Topps had a sack and forced a fumble, and Derrion Lucious had a forced fumble and a tackle for a loss.
Cornerback Javion Henry had an interception, and linebacker Alex McCarter had five tackles.
Wide receiver Dearis Smith had three catches for New Hope.
Neshoba Central 14, Starkville 10
STARKVILLE — Starkville lost 14-10 to Neshoba Central in Friday’s spring game at Starkville High School.
Tyler Nichols ran for an 18-yard touchdown for the Yellow Jackets, and Josh Eaves made a 35-yard field goal.
Neshoba Central quarterback Eli Anderson had a 6-yard rushing score, and the Rockets also connected on a 70-yard passing touchdown.
