For the first time in program history, MUW’s baseball team is hosting a conference tournament game.
The Owls (22-17) are set to begin the 2026 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason at 5 p.m. today at CCA field in Steens as they welcome Westminster College (17-23) in for a single-game elimination match.
Tickets are available for purchase at the gate, but only cash payments will be accepted. The entrance fees are $5 for adults, $3 for children (kids under 4 are free) and MUW students can watch for free if they show their school ID.
For the fourth-seeded Owls, 2026 marks their third-straight season qualifying for the SLIAC tournament, and the W is looking to advance to the championship game in back-to-back years. Last season MUW rebounded from an 18-4 loss to Spalding University in the first round with back-to-back wins over Westminster College (3-1) and Spalding (9-8) to gain entrance into the title game, where it lost 13-5 to Webster University.
The Owls played Westminster in a series earlier in the year and won two of the three games. The winner of the MUW/Westminster contest will advance to Thursday’s double-elimination series held in O’Fallon, Missouri.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 6 seed Greenville University is playing at No. 3 Lyon College in the first round. Webster is slotted as the No. 1 seed, and Spalding is the No. 2 seed. Both teams have a first-round bye. The winner of the 2026 SLIAC tournament will automatically advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
