OXFORD — Former Tulane defensive back Jadon Canady and UCF defensive back Justin Hodges committed to Ole Miss Thursday, with both announcements coming via social media.
Canady started eight games at cornerback in 2022 but missed the final half of the Green Wave’s season after sustaining “a serious knee injury,” according to NOLA.com. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder from Jacksonville was a three-star member of the 2021 recruiting class. He made 54 total tackles and intercepted two passes in his Tulane career.
Hodges, at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, started 14 games at nickel as a junior for the Knights in 2022 and 25 in his career. He racked up 78 total tackles and nabbed two interceptions over three seasons. According to the Associated Press, Hodges was dismissed from UCF’s team in January following an arrest for an alleged home invasion.
Ole Miss added a pair of highly-touted defensive backs earlier in the offseason in Georgia Tech’s Zamari Walton and Miami (Ohio)’s John Saunders Jr. The Rebels also added North Texas’ DeShawn Gaddie Jr., he announced on social media earlier this month.
The Rebels now have the No. 6 transfer class in the country, according to 247Sports.
