STARKVILLE – Mississippi State basketball stars Josh Hubbard and Madison Francis were named as respective finalists for the 2026 Bailey Howell and Peggy Gillom-Granderson Trophies on Tuesday by the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.
Hubbard, a two-time Howell Trophy winner already, also earned his third All-SEC selection in his junior campaign. He averaged 22.1 points for the Bulldogs to finish 10th in Division I scoring. It was a disappointing team campaign for the Bulldogs, but Hubbard’s individual legend expanded as he became the program’s all-time leader in three-point shooting and rose to fourth in the program’s list of all-time top scorers.
Francis had a breakout freshman campaign for the Bulldogs, earning SEC All-Freshman and All-Defense selections as well as a place on the midseason watchlist for National Defensive Player of the Year. Her 88 blocks were the third most in a single season in program history, and her four games with six or more blocks were the most in Division I basketball.
The Howell and Gillom Trophies will be presented at the VIP Room of the Golden Moon at Pearl River Resort on Wednesday, April 15.
