The Mississippi State softball team is taking a chance on a player who began her collegiate career at one of the nation’s premier programs.
Shea Moreno, a catcher and infielder from Sacramento, California, signed with UCLA out of Sheldon High School. But she redshirted with the Bruins, then transferred to the College of San Mateo.
Now, Moreno is a Bulldog, confirming to The Dispatch that she signed her national letter of intent to Mississippi State on Friday evening.
In 23 games with CSM in 2020, Moreno hit .487 with a .545 on-base percentage and a .868 slugging percentage. She hit six home runs and stole 33 bases.
