The Mississippi State softball team entered national rankings Tuesday after a 9-1 start to the 2020 season.
The Bulldogs, led by first-year head coach Samantha Ricketts, were ranked No. 24 in this week’s USA Softball/ESPN.com poll.
Mississippi State hasn’t been ranked since the first week of the 2019 season, when it came in at No. 25. The last time the Bulldogs were ranked in the USA Softball poll was 2018, when the team received the No. 25 ranking.
Mississippi State opens play against Oregon State in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Springs, California.
