Four Mississippi State football players have been invited to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, the league’s pre-draft showcase, which will take place in Indianapolis from Feb. 26 through Mar. 4.
Wide receiver and kick returner Lideatrick “Tulu” Griffin is the only Bulldogs’ offensive player on the list. Griffin posted career highs in receptions (50) and receiving yards (658) as a senior in 2023 with four touchdown catches. He set a single-game program record for receiving yards with 256 against South Carolina, and as MSU moved away from the “Air Raid” offense, Griffin was also used in the running game, with 17 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Jaden Crumedy, an anchor on MSU’s defensive line, finished 2023 — his sixth season with the Bulldogs — with 35 tackles and 2.5 sacks as well as two pass breakups. He is coming off an appearance in the Senior Bowl and was also invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Nathaniel “Bookie” Watson led the Southeastern Conference with 137 tackles and 10 sacks in his final season in Starkville and also played in the Senior Bowl earlier this month. He was named the AP SEC Defensive Player of the Year and made the all-conference first team, among other honors. The linebacker finished his collegiate career with 21 tackles in back-to-back games against Southern Miss and Ole Miss.
Decamerion Richardson, MSU’s top cover cornerback, broke up a career-high seven passes in 2023 and also recorded his first collegiate sack against Arkansas. He had committed to rival Ole Miss via the transfer portal, but later decided to enter the NFL Draft.
The Bulldogs had two players selected in last year’s draft, with cornerback Emmanuel Forbes going to the Washington Commanders in the first round and defensive tackle Cameron Young going to the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round.
