A date with the Dirtbags, a nonconference clash in New Orleans and another battle in Biloxi are all on the table for the Mississippi State baseball team in 2022.
The Bulldogs, the defending College World Series champions, released their full schedule for the upcoming season Tuesday afternoon. Times and TV stations have yet to be announced.
Long Beach State comes to Starkville to open the season from Feb. 18-20, and the Bulldogs play their lone true road nonconference series from March 4-6 at Tulane. Mississippi State will play another two-game set with Texas Tech at MGM Park in Biloxi, a rematch of the 2020 series the Bulldogs and Red Raiders completed under the wire hours before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the season.
The Bulldogs’ previously announced Southeastern Conference schedule is highlighted by trips to Arkansas and Ole Miss as well as home series against Florida and Tennessee.
Mississippi State will face Southern Miss on March 2 at Trustmark Park in Pearl. The Bulldogs will host Northern Kentucky (Feb. 25-27) and Princeton (March 11-13) in nonconference series.
Arkansas–Pine Bluff (Feb. 22), Grambling State (March 1), Binghamton (March 15), Southern (March 22), UT Martin (April 5), UAB (April 12), Jackson State (April 19) and North Alabama (May 17) will all come to Dudy Noble Field for midweek games.
The Bulldogs will make single-game trips to Memphis (March 29) and Samford (May 10). They will also play Ole Miss on April 26 in the Governor’s Cup game at Trustmark Park.
