Members of the 2022 Starkville High School football team received their Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 6A state championship rings on Tuesday evening.
Those included starting quarterback Trey Petty, entering his senior season with the Yellow Jackets, and head coach Chris Jones, who won his first state championship with the program during his tenure in Starkville.

The Jackets went 12-3 in 2022, defeating Brandon, 48-32, in the state championship game in Hattiesburg.
