GREENVILLE — The Heritage Academy boys tennis team won the MAIS Class 4A north half championship on Tuesday in Greenville.
Owen Riley and Blake Ward were winners at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, and Drew Knittig and Joshua Tedford won the No. 1 doubles title.
Graham Buxton and Brayden Oswalt were finalists at No. 2 doubles, and William Laws and Sarah Curtis were finalists in Mixed doubles.
Each of the Patriots will participate in the state championships May 5 in Vicksburg.

Vicksburg 6, New Hope 2
VICKSBURG — New Hope was eliminated by Vicksburg with a pair of losses on the road Tuesday in the second round of the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs.
The Trojans dropped Game 2 of the three-game series 6-2 before falling 9-6 in Game 3.
New Hope scored three runs in the seventh inning of the final game but had its comeback fall short. Kensley Woolbright pitched 3.2 innings, and Adi Dueitt threw 3.1.
In the first game Tuesday, Vicksburg used a five-run fourth inning to secure the win. Lailah Henderson led New Hope with two hits, and Woolbright drove in a run.

Starkville Academy 7, Pillow Academy 4
GREENWOOD — The Starkville Academy baseball team held off Pillow Academy 7-4 in Game 1 of Tuesday’s MAIS Class 4A second-round playoff series in Greenwood.
Harris McReynolds hit a three-run home run for the Volunteers in the second inning. Colby Allen homered in the first, and Porter Skelton did the same in the sixth.
Skelton and McReynolds each had three RBIs for the Vols. John Paul Buckner had four strikeouts in five innings pitched, and Allen struck out three over two innings.
Starkville Academy will host Pillow on Thursday for Game 2. If the Mustangs win, a decisive Game 3 will be immediately afterward.
Kirk Academy 10, Oak Hill Academy 0, five innings
GRENADA — Oak Hill Academy was run-ruled 10-0 by Kirk Academy in five innings Tuesday in Grenada in the first game of their MAIS Class 3A second-round playoff series.
Kirk scored its first four runs in the third inning, added five in the fourth and scored a 10th to end the game in the fifth.
Oak Hill will host Game 2 on Thursday in West Point with Game 3 to follow should the Raiders win.
