NEW HOPE — The West Point High School baseball team picked up an 8-2 road win Tuesday at district rival New Hope.
Elijah Young pitched 6.2 innings for the Green Wave to earn the win. Ben Harrell and Tyrese Johnson each drove in two runs.
West Point stretched its lead from 1-0 to 6-0 with a five-run third inning.
New Hope will host Columbus on Friday, while West Point will host Grenada.

NEW HOPE — Runs were hard to come by in New Hope’s 3-1 home loss to Saltillo on Tuesday.
Lailah Henderson drove in the lone run for the Trojans (10-6), while Adi Dueitt kept her team in it pitching in the circle with seven strong innings and four strikeouts.
New Hope will play Thursday at Hamilton.

MERIDIAN — Heritage Academy baseball swept a road doubleheader Tuesday at Lamar School.
Rhett Ketchum earned the win on the mound and had two hits in the Patriots’ 6-4 win in Game 2. Aaron Downs and Jack Ketchum also had two hits each.
In Game 1, the Patriots pulled off a 7-4 win by scoring six runs in the final two innings. Heritage Academy was tied 1-1 with Lamar headed into the top of the sixth, but Rhett Ketchum’s solo home run broke the tie as the Pats plated four runs in the inning.
Ketchum finished with two homers and led the team with three RBIs, and he and Downs each had two hits. Cole Ketchum allowed one earned run in 6.2 innings, striking out six.
Heritage Academy will host Lamar at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

STARKVILLE — Starkville Academy split Tuesday’s home doubleheader with East Rankin Academy.
Will McReynolds drove in six runs and Cooper McNeel had a three-run double in a 12-7 win for the Volunteers in Game 2.
The Patriots took Game 1 from the Vols, 6-4.
Starkville Academy will play Thursday at East Rankin in Pelahatchie.

DE KALB — Columbus Christian Academy fell 11-4 on Tuesday at Kemper Academy.
Daniel Pate, John James Butler and Lahndon Townley all had two hits for the Rams, and Caleb Farlow drove in two runs.
Luke Phillips had four strikeouts in 3.1 innings.
Columbus Christian will host Golden Triangle HomeSchool on Thursday in Steens.
Oak Hill Academy 19, Central Holmes Christian 7, six innings
LEXINGTON — Oak Hill Academy exploded for 19 runs in a big road win Tuesday over Central Holmes Christian School, posting a 19-7 win on the run rule in six innings.
Manning Huffman had a triple and a pair of home runs for the Raiders. He finished 4 of 5 with six RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base.
Cameron Dill was 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles and two walks. He scored twice and drove in a run.
Brian Buchanan and Garrett Edwards each had two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs apiece. Ty Harden was 2 for 3 with two doubles, three runs scored and an RBI.
The Raiders will play at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Winona Christian.

The Heritage Academy tennis team took care of business against rival Starkville Academy on Tuesday night, winning a 6-3 contest.
Starkville Academy dominated girls singles, with Lily Holliday besting Heritage’s Anne Clark Shepherd at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0, while Grace Delp took down Shannon McElhinny 6-1, 6-1. Heritage swept girls doubles, winning No. 1 6-3, 6-2 and No. 2 6-4, 7-6.
At No. 1 boys singles, Heritage’s Owen Riley beat Tyler Highfield 6-0, 6-0, while Blake Ward won by forfeit at No. 2 singles. The Patriots swept boys doubles, winning No. 1 6-0, 6-0 and No. 2 6-2, 6-1. Starkville Academy won mixed doubles 6-2, 6-1.
Heritage is back in action against Lamar School on Thursday in Meridian.
