JACKSON — The Heritage Academy baseball team had 29 hits Monday in victories against St. Joseph Catholic Pillow Academy.
Austin Braddock had a triple and a home run in the second game, a 12-2 victory against Pillow Academy. The game was rescheduled from last week and was part of the team”s pool play for the Smith-Wills tournament.
Heritage Academy (8-0) used an eight-run fourth inning to break the game open.
Braddock, Parker Dunaway, James Clark, and M.J. Hamrick each had two hits. Camp Pittman also had a double in the 12-hit attack.
Clark improved to 2-0 with the win.
In the first game, a 14-4 victory, the Patriots had 17 hits, led by Clark, Hamrick, and Dunaway, who had three each. Dunaway, Hamrick and Clark had a double and a triple, while Braddock (two hits) had a double. Tyler Farnham and Tyler Marchak also had two hits.
Hunter Ward (2-0) earned the victory.
n In related news, the team”s Pats and Bats Catfish Fry and Family Night will be from 4-8 p.m. March 24 at the baseball field.
The team is scheduled to play Washington School in a doubleheader.
There will be a limited number of catfish plates available for purchase at the concession stand. Tickets are $10 and include admission to the game, a full catfish dinner, and fun activities for the kids. All proceeds support the 2011 baseball team and Patriot Park, the 2011 Senior Service Project.

Rain alters baseball, softball tournament schedules at ICC
Rain Monday forced changes to the schedule for the Spring Break Tournament at Itawamba Community College in Fulton.
At noon today, Hamilton will face Shannon. Nettleton will take on North Pontotoc at 2:30 p.m., followed by Tupelo-Houston at 5 p.m. and Itawamba Agricultural-Mantachie at 7:30 p.m.
The tournament will continue Thursday and Friday. Hamilton will take on Amory at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
The softball tournament will begin at 10 a.m. today with Hamilton facing Saltillo. Hamilton will take on Smithville at 2 p.m. and Mooreville at 6 p.m.
Games will start at noon Wednesday and run through 6 p.m.
