NEW ORLEANS – Southern Miss graduate forward Denijay Harris was named Second Team All-Sun Belt on Monday afternoon, per a release from the conference office.

The Columbus High School product is the first Sun Belt player to average double-digit points and rebounds since Artemus McClary of Jacksonville during the 1995-96 season. Harris finished the regular season averaging 16.9 points and 10.9 rebounds. He also finished the season with 17 double-doubles, which led the conference and ranked fifth in the NCAA.
Harris was the only Sun Belt player to average 10-plus rebounds per game and had 18 games with at least 10 boards. He also had 27 games where he finished with double figure points and ended the season with at least 10 points in 23 of his last 25 games. Harris scored a career-high 32 points against William Carey and added 23 rebounds in the win.
The 6-foot-7 forward posted 47 blocks, which ranked him second in blocks per game in the conference. As of today, Harris is third in the country in total rebounds and rebounds per game. He’s also third in the country in defensive rebounds per game at 8.5.
Harris is the first Southern Miss player to average double-digit points and rebounds since the 2003-04 season and his 17 double-doubles are the most in a single season since 1991-92. The 17 double-doubles this season are the sixth-most in a single season at Southern Miss.
Harris and the Golden Eagles open the 2025 Hercules Tire Sun Belt Championship on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Pensacola, Fla. Southern Miss will play Coastal Carolina in the first round.
