OXFORD – Ole Miss is ranked No. 6 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.
The Rebels (10-1, 6-1 SEC) defeated Florida 34-24 Saturday and have a bye this week. They were ranked No. 7 in last week’s CFP rankings and are No. 5 in the latest AP Poll.
With the win over the Gators, Ole Miss clinched a third straight double-digit win season for the first time in program history. The Rebels have 11 seasons with 10 or more wins all time; four of those have come in the last five years under head coach Lane Kiffin.
According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, Ole Miss has an 89.1% chance to make the CFP, the sixth-highest odds of any team. It would be the first time the Rebels have made the CFP field.
Ohio State remains No. 1 in the CFP rankings, followed by Indiana, Texas A&M, Georgia and Texas Tech.
Ole Miss plays at Mississippi State on Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
