Caledonia announced on Friday it has hired Dowell Green as its next head boys basketball coach. Green replaces Mike Jenkins, who stepped away from coaching duties after the conclusion of the 2025-2026 season.
Green, a Mississippi State graduate, brings 13 years of coaching experience to the Cavaliers’ hardwood with previous stops at Ocean Springs Middle School, Ridgeland and Winona Christian School.
“I am very humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead the boys basketball program here at Caledonia,” Green said in a release. “I can’t wait to get to work and help build this program into one that our players, school and community can take pride in.”
Jenkins led the Cavs for one season and coached the team to an 8-18 record that ended with a 71-39 first-round playoff loss to Class 5A runner-up Holmes County Central.
