East Mississippi Community College football (6-4) fell three spots in Monday’s new National Junior College Athletic Association national poll.
The Lions dropped from No. 13 to No. 16 after being eliminated from the MACJC playoffs with Saturday’s 31-7 loss at No. 1 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston.
Gulf Coast (10-0) and second-place Lackawanna (Pa.) are the only two undefeated teams in Monday’s top 20. Northwest Mississippi (8-2) was ranked fourth, Hinds (7-2) was ranked eighth and Jones (7-2) was ranked 10th. East Central (4-5) and Copiah-Lincoln (4-5) each received votes.
The Lions will wait to see if they will be selected for any bowl games this season.
