Mississippi State baseball picked up another transfer Tuesday as University of New Orleans second baseman Amani Larry announced his commitment to play for the Bulldogs.
“Very blessed and thankful to say I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Mississippi State,” Larry tweeted Tuesday afternoon.
The Privateers infielder had a strong season at the plate in 2022, finishing with a triple-slash line of .370/.477/.578. Larry hit nine home runs, drove in 56 runs and went 16 for 21 on stolen bases.
The Bossier City, Louisiana, native played two seasons at East Central Community College before heading to UNO. Larry hit .400 for the Warriors in 2021 after hitting .373 in the shortened 2020 season.
Larry joins Memphis pitcher Landon Gartman, Ball State pitcher Nate Dohm and Samford outfielder Colton Ledbetter in the Bulldogs’ transfer class.
