NEW HOPE — The New Hope High School baseball team broke a 5-5 tie with a run in the fifth inning to edge West Point 6-5 on Tuesday in New Hope.
The Trojans scored four runs in the second inning and one in the fourth. The Green Wave had two in the third and tied the game with three in the fourth.
Adam Adair closed out the game in the seventh for New Hope.
The two schools will play again Friday at West Point.

Tupelo 4, Starkville 1
STARKVILLE — Starkville lost Monday’s home game to Tupelo, 4-1.
The Jackets scored their lone run in the bottom of the fifth on a passed ball.
Tupelo scored two runs in the third to take a 3-0 lead and added a run in the top of the fifth.
Ethan Pulliam struck out seven in 4.1 innings for the Jackets. Brennon Wright pitched the remaining 2.2 innings.
Starkville will host Germantown on March 29.
Columbus Christian Academy 15, Hebron Christian 0, three innings
STEENS — Columbus Christian Academy beat Hebron Christian 15-0 in three innings Monday in Steens.
The Rams scored 10 runs in the third for the run-rule win.
Caleb Farlow, Lahndon Townley and John James Butler each drove in two runs. Drake Shaw led Columbus Christian with three hits.
Shaw had eight strikeouts in three innings pitched.
Oak Hill Academy 10, Indianola Academy 9
WEST POINT — Oak Hill Academy sophomore Ty Harden hit a go-ahead, three-run home run in the sixth inning to lead the Raiders to a 10-9 home win over Indianola Academy on Monday in West Point.
Harden’s blast capped a six-run inning and put Oak Hill up 10-8, and the Raiders closed out the game in the seventh.
Oak Hill scored its first three runs in the first inning, and Harden had an RBI triple in the fourth.
Colin Boyd had five strikeouts in four innings of relief as well as a double and two RBIs at the plate.
Cameron Dill went 2 for 2, scored two runs and stole a base.
The Raiders will play Tuesday at Winona Christian.
