It’s not who is on Capitol Hill…
I have worked at the polls since 2008. It has been an ongoing learning experience. Early on, I learned a person can’t be denied an opportunity to vote. An affidavit ballot is issued to anyone. But the law is, if your name is not on the voter roll at the circuit clerk’s office, it is not counted. Several young first-time voters have found out they were not registered to vote. They were under the impression they registered at the DMV when their license were received or renewed. For some reason the DMV doesn’t pass this information to the local clerk’s office. If the voter can confirm they registered there, the affiliated vote is counted. With the technology today it shouldn’t be a problem for the information to be forwarded. This is not a new problem, I’ve seen it for years.
At the time of this letter, the 2020 election results are still unknown. When I heard about mail in voting, I saw a real problem on the horizon, and I wasn’t disappointed. Absentee voting is great but, there has been abuse in it, if you have kept up with local elections. There will be dishonest people doing dishonest things until Jesus returns. It’s a fact of life. We are witnessing that today. As my boys use to say “fair and square” or the lack there-of. Power is a funny thing. It has the tendency to corrupt. I will admit, I’m a Trump supporter; he has made America great again even if it is temporarily if Biden/Harris are elected. I am glad that this is not my home. I’ m just passing through. One day soon, I’ll be going there. So for y’all out there that are worrying about the election, please don’t. The “Great I Am” has got this. As my pastor has said, “It’s not who is on Capitol Hill, it’s who is on Cavalry’s Hill.” Can I get an AMEN!
