Calls out columnist over Pelosi claims
In a column this week, Patrick Buchanan states that in announcing the $900 billion bill to deal with the pandemic, Pelosi did not mention the gifts for her (our) distressed countrymen and women at Christmas would have been twice as large had she taken Trump’s offer of $1.8 trillion in October.
And you, Pat, didn’t mention that the House, led by Nancy Pelosi, earlier on Oct. 1, had passed a bill of $2.2 trillion that Trump and the Republicans said no to. McConnell said he didn’t want to spend trillions more on the pandemic.
Democrats say Treasury Department delays cost thousands of aviation jobs, as many as 16,500. The money was to be used to pay the workers through the end of September.
The delay forced the contractors to lay their workers off, and when they did get the money, they didn’t hire the workers back. Dirty! Dirty! Dirty!
Now on Tuesday night Trump wants everyone to get $2,000 stimulus, $4,000 for couples.

Mr. President: Sign the bill to keep the government open. Urge McConnell and McCarthy to agree with the Democrats’ unanimous consent request for $2,000 direct payments.
The Trump leaves Washington in limbo. He heads off to Mar-a-Largo after dropping the COVID bill grenade. Nobody in the White House or on Capitol Hill knows what Trump’s plan is, or if he has one.

Until the conservative writers like Mr. Buchanan, the Republicans, and our religious leaders start dealing with facts instead of satisfying Trump, it’s going to be on the shoulders of Biden and the Democrats to hold our democracy together. It appears the Republican party is all about a cult.
