Points out China’s growing strength during pandemic
In his recent letter to the editor, Ghanshyam D. Heda hopes for more information out of China where the virus is claimed have originated. But now, it is very surprising that China is no more in the news when it comes to this virus.
China has largely brought the coronavirus under control with no vaccinations.
Unlike our President, who from the beginning declared the virus to be a “hoax” created by the Democrats to hurt him in the election, the speed of China’s response was the factor in their successful control of COVID-19.
Wuhan was put under strict lockdown for 76 days. Soon, similar measures were implemented in every city in Hubei province. Fourteen-thousand health checkpoints were set up at transportation hubs. Within weeks, 9 million people were tested in Wuhan alone. Other countries delayed their response, like the U.S. and Trump, and that meant they lost control.
China readily adopted mask wearing, and compliance was very high.
Even in September, our president treated Joe Biden wearing of a mask as a weakness to be ridiculed.
Profits at China’s industrial firms grew robustly in November for the seventh straight month. Because China brought the virus under control, the economists claim it will shorten the time that China’s economy becomes bigger than the U.S.’s by five years. There’s so much demand for containers to ship products from China to the U.S., that some companies are sending empty boxes back to Asia.
In the U.S., the only way we can keep capitalism from crashing is to practice socialism with money we don’t have.
And we all remember in the primary Trump saying China was eating our lunch, because Bush and Obama didn’t know how to negotiate with China, that he and his “art of the deal” would change that.
After four years of Trump, our deficit with China is the largest it has been in 14 years. Now we know Trump’s art of the deal was all talk and no substance, just like the election fraud: all talk and no proof.
Since Trump can’t beat China economically, it seems he wants to hold them accountable by going to war with them, which would be even worse. China is a no-win for Trump.
