In response to Our View: A Failure of Leadership
And I call this a failure of leadership also.
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Republican state attorneys general, President Trump, and Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves are pushing forward to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.
Proof that Hood would have been the better man. Instead of dismantling it, Hood would have accepted it for the poorest people in our state.
For almost four years, Trump has been saying that the Republican party will be known as the healthcare party.
Reeves says he has spent several sleepless nights praying about how to handle the COVID-19 crisis. This is meant to encourage Reeves to help the poor, not to degrade him. He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors him.
