Thinks soccer fields were a good decision
A while back, Sarah Studdard wrote a letter to the editor about all things Columbus. I agreed with most of her points, but there was a mention about the soccer fields.
I remember when that area was completely underwater, after a major flooding event some years ago. When Columbus decided to turn that flood plain into soccer fields, I was impressed. The next time that area floods, I thought, there will be minimal damage there.
That plain will flood periodically (as it did just recently) and while the kids are going to miss some practices and games, there will be minimal damage each time it floods.
Well done, Columbus!
