After reading a recent letter to the editor I too decided to give my few pennies of thought. The writer gave his opinion that former President Biden’s choice for his running mate to be a Black woman discriminated against all other races and genders. I’m not trying to change his opinion, only give a few different view points. Biden may have thought he needed someone who had experienced racism and sexism first hand. Their perspective and views from personal experience could provide valuable insight into finding solutions to age-old problems. I would think the writer would agree that racism and sexism has been ongoing since the beginning of man. I don’t believe Biden ever said he didn’t want the “other races or gender” because of color or gender. His running mate wasn’t just chosen because of race or gender. If that was the case he could have picked any black woman walking down the street.
In regards to all the federal employees being laid off, Trump is using them as political pawns in his political fight. Let’s explain to them how losing your job and possibly homes, cars, etc. is going to make America great again because of the inability of the current POTUS and Congress to govern.
As for the three to five “illegitimate” children they had no say in being born into this world. Should we let them go hungry because of choices made by others? I’d like to see someone feed three to five kids on $300-$900 dollars a month. I’m not against the work requirement but what about the kids? Will the parents find good paying jobs to pay for daycare, school or other services for the children while at work? I’ve worked hard all of my life for what little I have, and I feel blessed. I have no problem with a few of my tax dollars helping those less fortunate regardless of their circumstances. I’m sure we could find better ways to slash government spending without affecting the health and welfare of children and the less fortunate. I’m sure by now I’m being labeled a liberal which is the farthest thing from the truth. I’m just a hard working, conservative, average Joe that was raised to try to help the less fortunate. America has more problems than answers. The hate, lies, and division being spread by all parties in D.C. is probably the biggest problem. They have no real solutions so please pray for the less fortunate because they will suffer the consequences.
