Daniel McCarthy blames Democrats’ refusal to fund DHS for our air travel problems. In fact, House Democrats are trying to pass stand-alone funding bills for the Transportation Security Agency. Speaker Mike Johnson, sensing political advantage in keeping TSA unfunded, has refused to act on the bills — fund all of DHS or take a hike. So, really, it is Republicans who are causing airport distress.
Further, President Trump could easily transfer funds from ICE to TSA with an executive order. ICE has tens of billions of dollars they do not actually need, especially since their purchase of buildings to be converted to concentration camps is being blocked everywhere (almost entirely in red states).
As Mr. McCarthy says, remember in November.
