During the very early spring of 2024 I was contacted by Danette Clear Moore letting me know that Sunshine Stables was selected to be one of three non-profits in the running for the payout from the 100+ Women Who Care organization. Fast forward to today and Sunshine Stables had been busy utilizing the grand prize donation awarded to us from 100+ Women Who Care. When Sunshine Stables’ name was drawn as the winner for the $19,000 total it quite literally changed the trajectory of our year. What the 100+ Women Who Care couldn’t have possibly known is that I had just undergone life altering changes due to a personal emergency in 2022. Since I’m the founder and director, this life change had led to Sunshine Stables’ fundraising being put on a lower priority for me and my family. When Sunshine Stables was selected for the grand prize payout it allowed the organization to not only continue the daily care involved in their lesson program, but also allowed them to continue with several around-the-farm projects that had to be paused due to financial restrictions. A few of those projects include finishing stalls inside the barn for the horses, new arena footing and a much needed restroom in the barn. Sunshine Stables is incredibly grateful for the money awarded to them by 100+ Women Who Care and the work they do that supports local 501(c)3s . “It was a beautifully timed Blessing.”
