Publisher’s note: The following letter was written by the organizer of the R.E. Hunt High School Reunion.
To my R. E. Hunt High School classmates,
Every dream begins with a story, and I want to share mine.
This journey started with a simple idea — to make sure the history of R.E. Hunt High School and the people who walked its halls would never be forgotten. I believed our memories deserved to be celebrated, our friendships deserved to be reunited, and our legacy deserved to be honored.
There were challenges along the way. There were moments when the task seemed too big, but I never gave up because I knew this was bigger than me. It was about preserving our history for future generations.
When I looked around the room Thursday evening, I saw more than classmates and friends. I saw living history. I saw strength, perseverance, and love. I saw people who helped shape a community and whose stories continue to inspire others.
My dream was never just to hold an event. My dream was to bring hearts back together, to celebrate where we came from, and to remind each of us that our lives matter and our stories deserve to be told.
I hope the reunion reminded us that dreams can become reality when they are fueled by faith, determination, and a willingness to serve others.
To my fellow R. E. Hunt family, thank you for believing in this vision, for being part of this celebration, and for helping keep our legacy alive.
May God continue to bless each of you, and may we never forget where we came from or the dreams that brought us together.
