I do not believe for any moment that we should compare the price of poultry or anything else caused by Putin and his war against Ukraine above the price of freedom.
The Ukraine war is about the love of freedom by the Ukrainians and the love of oppression by Putin.
Putin is afraid that freedom will cause him to lose his power.
What is almost appalling is our ex-president Trump constant praising of not only Putin, but other dictators.
Just this past Saturday night at a rally in Georgia, Trump degrades his own General Milley as an idiot before gushing over smart Kim Jong-un, who Trump says rules (oppression) 1.5 billion people with an iron fist. He’s a smart guy. He’s a tough guy.
That’s proof to me that Trump doesn’t care about democracy.
Trump’s national security advisor, John Bolton, said Trump helped set the stage for the invasion of Ukraine.
His repeated flattery of Putin and his weakening of America’s relationship with Europe (Bolton believed if Trump had been elected to a second term, he would have pulled the U.S. from NATO) emboldened the Russian leader, while Trump’s contempt for Ukraine and his baseless claim that its government was corrupt weakened that nation’s standing.
The Ukraine war is showing us more than rising prices. It’s also showing us the people who love freedom instead of oppression.
Senate Republican Madison Cawthorn, who says president Zelensky is corrupt and a thug, is now the star on TV of Russian propaganda.
With all of the above, one could have plenty of room to doubt if the Republican party stands for freedom.
Ukrainians are dying for democracy, while in America, the Republicans won’t stand up to Trump (Jan. 6), but are his enablers.
