COLUMBUS — Yvonne Brooks, 70, died Dec. 15, 2018. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Charity Full Gospel Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Friday at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Brooks was born Sept. 7, 1948, in Lowndes County, to the late Joe Marshall Sr. and Mattie B. Brooks. She was a graduate of Moor High, Mississippi Valley State and Detroit College of Business. She was formerly employed in the billing department with Hurley Hospital in Flint, Michigan and as a housing specialist with the Housing Authority. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Helen Brooks. She is survived by her brothers, Joe Marshall Brooks of Madison, Illinois, Joe L. Brooks of Columbus, John Brooks and John O. Brooks, both of Flint, Albert Brooks and Fred Tolon, both of Crawford; and sisters, Lottie Brooks, Doris Thomas and Priscilla Turner, all of Flint. Pallbearers will be John Brooks II, Derrick Huddleston, Manvel Brooks, Prince Brooks, DeAndre Turner and Christopher White.
