COLUMBUS – Winnie L. Epps, 86, died April 30, 2026, at her residence. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Piney Grove M.B. Church, with Micheal Reed officiating. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.       

Ms. Epps was born February 15, 1940, in Columbus, to the late Jim Epps and Charlotte Henry Epps. She was formally employed at F.W. Woodworth in Chicago, Illinois, Johnston Tombigbee Furniture Company and Sanderson Plumbing. She was a member of Piney Grove M.B. Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Savannah Epps, Bessie Thomas, Liza Lewis, Viola Martin, Ellis B. Presley and Freddie Epps. 

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Pratt of Columbus; siblings, David Epps, Jimmy Epps, Judy Mae Cotton Williams, all of Columbus; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be John Harris, Quintin Bush, Marcus Hill, Charlie Fenster, Rico Frierson and Robert Smith.
