HAMILTON — On July 23, 2025, Winfred Ray Hill went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Ray was born on June 25, 1937, in Bon Air, Alabama to Jefferson Reese Hill and Mollie Bell Hill. He served in the United States Air force two years and went on to graduate from Blue Mountain University and then from Montevallo University. Ray was a Southern Baptist minister and pastored churches in MS, IL, KY, and AL. He also worked as a counselor helping many people.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Center Hill Baptist Church in Hamilton, MS, with Pastor Michael Duff Officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from noon until the service hour. Burial will follow in Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

He leaves behind a legacy of love to be carried on by his girls, Teresa “Terri’ Duff (Michael), Linda Dill (Donnie) and Kathy Young (Bob); grandchildren, Chris Duff, Brandi Griffin (Jimmy), Chad Britt, Kim Schafer (Jeff), Brian Young (Jaclyn), Tyler Young and Andrew Young; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; all his siblings; his granddaughter, Ashley Dill Britt; and the mother of his children, Betty Strickland.
