COLUMBUS — Willie Dell “Pig” Sherrod, 80, died July 15, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church, with the Rev. Sammie Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Sherrod was born March 3, 1955, in Muskegon, Michigan, to the late Alfred Sherrod and Aretha Sherrod. He was formerly employed as a welder at Columbus Machine Works and was a member of Pilgrim Rest  M.B. Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dennis Sherrod, Donald Sherrod, Alfred Sherrod Jr., Alcurtis Sherrod, Bobby Sherrod and Sinter Sherrod. 

He is survived by his children, Willie Robinson Jr., Donald Sherrod, Pomelo Sherodd-Williams, Anthony Sherrod and Deno Sherrod; and siblings, Deblin Hayes, Johnny Sherrod and Gae Brennan; and 15 grandchildren.
