COLUMBUS — Willie “BUBU” B. Jones, 69, died Aug. 23, 2025.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Christian Hill M.B. Church in Brooksville, with Alvin Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Jones was born Aug. 30, 1955, in Noxubee County, to the late William Mitchell Jones and Stella Mae Jones. He was formerly employed as a supervisor at Johnston Tombigbee Furniture Company. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissia Hughes; and two grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Rosetta H. Jones; children, Latasha Jones of Jackson, Lakeshia Hairston of Columbus, John Hughes of Southaven and Courtavis Hairston of Memphis, Tennessee; siblings, Angela Stewart, Mitchell Jones, Lula B. Jones, Mary White, all of Brooksville, Eddie C. Jones, Delois Burckhalter, both of Columbus, Danny Earl Jones of Macon and Lucille Washington of South Carolina; and eight grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Willie Stewart, Dennis Brooks, Jordan Jones, Donshay Lower, Denntian Buckhalter, Danny Jones Jr., John White Jr. and Johnny Buckhalter.
