ABERDEEN — William M. “Tizzy” Tisdale, 83, died Dec. 30, 2010, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. Services are today at 1 p.m. at Tisdale Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with David Harrell and Pat Nunnelee officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time. Mr. Tisdale was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Ellisville to the late Elbert Washington Tisdale and Evie Elzey Tisdale. He worked for Lann Memorial Funeral Home and later purchased and owned Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home. He was a veteran of World War II. He served as mayor of Aberdeen for three terms and was president of the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce. He was senior Vice President of American Funeral Assurance Company. He attended Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Nashville and Jones Junior College. he was a member of the Aberdeen Rotary Club. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wallace Tisdale; sisters, Leatrice Bustin and Laverne Sumrall and three brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Sandi Tisdale Ervin of Aberdeen; son, Kenny Tisdale of Aberdeen; sisters, Faye Sumrall of Ellisville and Pellie Hancock of Ellisville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are the staff of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home.
